Review content:
After hearing all of the rave reviews and seeing the dessert menu featured on The Food Network I was extremely excited to experience everything MIchael's Genuine had to offer. I went on a regular Tuesday night and was met by a very rude hostess. I have been in the food industry for years working in both the front and back of the house. Needless to say I pay attention to EVERY aspect of service that is provided. First thing you should know about dining here is that this is not an inexpensive menu, so you need to be prepared to spend. After careful review of the menu, we decided to order the chili chicken wings (4 wings), the fried pig ear (1 ear), and the whole roasted chicken (which takes 1 full hour as it is made to order). After placing the order to a waiter that took 20 mins to greet us, our appetizers arrived. The pig ear was OK, nothing spectcular at all. Already becoming disappointed, 30 mins into the wait for our chicken, and the EXTREMELY tiny appetizers long devoured the server returns to tell us that they ran out of chickens and he did not realize it when he placed the order......... At this point my husband and I were starved and not happy AT ALL. We looked back at the menu and decided to order the Pork Loin with a side of mash potatoes (sides are separate). Trying to remain optimistic, the Pork Loin arrives extremely overcooked and extremely DRY!!! Thank God they put a chimichurri sauce on the plate because it was almost inedible. Despite everything, my favortie part of the meal is dessert and the real reason why I wanted to try this restaurant. We ordered the coffee with sour dough and sea salt dessert and I have to say it was divine. The manager did try and make up for the chicken by giving us a complimentary Orange Creamsicle dessert and the mini donuts which was very nice considering.DESSERT is by far the only thing good at this restaurant and may be the only reason why I would ever go back to this OVERPRICED place.
