I would never have found Heather/Catena's if not for citysearch - so thank you, citysearch!
I was looking for a manicure/pedicure place that did paraffin treatments (because the skin on my hands especially have become very dry from my callouses from cello) and used organic products. Seeing all the wonderful reviews here, I decided to book at Catena's... I was so pleased they were able to accommodate me on short notice (I called 1 or 2 days before).
WOW. I have been to a lot of places in my search for the perfect experience - from the ubiquitous nail salons in strip malls, to some very nice spas. Heather, has given me, by far, the BEST manicure/pedicure I've ever gotten. She is way better than even aestheticians I've met that focus on nails only (which truly was a pleasant surprise!). And trust me, I'm picky. She is thorough, friendly, professional, meticulous, experienced (17 years!), very picky (she repeats the entire polish application process on a nail if she is not satisfied). I love how much attention to detail she puts into her work, whether it be how sanitized her materials are or how well your nails are cut, or how comfortable you are. She also likes to share some tips and tricks! On top of all this, she has such a warm and effusive personality.
As if Heather weren't enough, the atmosphere at Catena's is amazing. It's an older house converted into a salon and Heather's ""studio"" is on the second floor attic, which was very warm and inviting. It's the most relaxing pedicure I've ever had because of how cozy it was.
I've found my nail aesthetician and will certainly be coming back for more. I'm going to try a facial and eyelash extensions with her. If she's THAT great and thorough with nails, I can only wonder how she is with the other stuff. If my skin looks half as good as hers afterward, I'll be completely sold :)
