My ac went down in Aug. '08 during the hottest 2 weeks of summer. I had a 5 yr. warranty on the unit from manufacturer & a 3 yr. warranty on labor from Power Air. They finally got a guy out there after 1 week and it was diagnosed as a burnt compressor. After multiple calls to them, they finally got back to me & said they were having trouble getting the part . Fast forward to 3 weeks later, still w/ NO ac & a wife pregnant w/ twins @ the time & they stopped even returning my calls! I eventually called the manufacturer & got a name of a co. in the area to come & check things out. Well, they came the day after I called, diagnosed the problem & had a new part installed all within 1 week! Why couldn't Power Air do this you ask? Because they just blew us off & didn't even try to get that part! They had our money from the install & that was all they cared about! When I was shopping for a co. to do our install, I met the owner, Dave Dolin @ a home show in Secaucus & he was very nice & seemed knowledgeable. To their credit, they were there & installed the unit when they said they would. However, after that, they were pretty much done w/ us! I don't understand how you can build a co. w/ absolutely NO customer service in an industry that should have that as a # 1 priority! Their co. motto should be ""Take The Money & Run!"" Also, when I had the new co. come in to fix my ac, they pointed out several problems w/ the install that Power did, citing code violations as well as a dangerous electrical problem that I also had to have corrected. If people see their booth @ the next home show, they should head the other way! Again - if you are shopping for ac or heat, stay away from this bogus co., do not fall for all their false promises! I saw Power Air's profile on Google (written by Power Air) & they claim to have great customer service! I can attest, THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE LIE!!! And, seeing the other reports on them from various people, I am not the only one to feel that way! Pros: Low price (beware!) Fast install ( they cut corners!) Cons: Customer service is non existant!
