Review content:
I've lived at Oak Run for almost a year. I moved here because of the green belt and community atmosphere. I did read the bad reviews about the then current management, but I thought they were all friendly, nice and helpful during the lease process and afterwards. The new management, while promising to address issues that hadn't been resolved by the previous management, has really not done a good job of showing they care about tenants. I've had to call repeatedly for broken glass around the dumpster and in the parking lot and to follow up on repair calls. Repairs now take days instead of the next day service under the previous management. All things I've learned to live with along with the older apartment in slightly run-down condition, like raccoons and possums in the attic and random bugs, but this latest incident is the reason I'm taking the time to warn others.
There was a notice on the doors of our building yesterday that there would be a pest inspection today. I came home today to find my bed covers in disarray and my pillows piled in a heap in the middle of my bed. I immediately called the office which was closed. Next I tried the after-hours line. I thought it could have been the inspection, but I've NEVER heard of a bed being inspected and I thought they would have written that on the inspection notice. The first thing I said when the after-hours person answered was ""I'm sorry for calling so late, but I just got home and the office is already closed."" I explained what I had found and his response was ""What do you want me to do about it? The office is closed."" I suggested he call the manager to find out why my bed had been touched. He said he didn't have any phone numbers, not the manager's nor the lead maintenance (which I also had to suggest to him). He then said ""I'll call you back"" and hung up before getting my name, apartment number and most importantly my phone number. I waited 20 minutes before calling back to give him ample time to make some calls. He again told me there was nothing he could do, the office was closed and he didn't have any manager phone numbers. Out of desperation, I went to the lead maintenance man's house. I obviously caught him at the wrong time because he wasn't overly pleasant either. His suggestion was to call the police because he believed my house had been broken into and that he was off duty and not on call, couldn't help, didn't have any phone numbers either and to call the after-hours line back because that person would have a way to contact the manager (even though I'd already told him he said he didn't have the manager's number). So now, in addition to be hot and frustrated (I had to wait outside while he took a shower before he could tell me he couldn't help me), now I was worried my apartment had been broken into!
Just be careful if you decide to move in here. I moved here for the outdoor space but will probably leave at the end of my lease if things don't improve.
