I heard about John from a friend, that said ""John Rubio is the hottest thing in houston right now!"" So I had to go see for myself. I had been growing my hair out and was just kind of bored with it. I brought in a few pictures and told him I wanted something totally new, but I wasn't sure I could pull off the look I was going for. He did warn me that what I wanted was significantly shorter, but he thought it would look great. I took a deep breath and said OKAY! I get so many compliments on my hair now, its pretty crazy. I've been back about 6 times since and I'm impressed everytime. Whether I tell him I just want a trim, to maintain it, or I wan't something a little different, I'm always pleased with the outcome. I have also gotten color done as well with John. His hilighting techniqus are outstanding, I had him touch up my roots and add a very vibrant fuschia for my hilights. I've also done some pretty crazy things with my hair, but he kept the integrity of my hair intact. My hair actually looked healthier when he was finished. I really can't say enough good things about him, he is very professional and he has a calming effect on his clients. He is really funny also, like getting your haircut isn't already something that will boost your mood, but he makes me laugh everytime I'm there. A little note about the salon in general, everyone is friendly especially Elizabeth at the front desk she is always accomodating when I call and desperatly need an appointment. Even if you currently have a stylist that you are happy with, you need to seriously re-think it and make an appointment with John, he is truely the best!
