For years my sister-in-law has cut my hair. When she moved I had to find a new place. I like Aveda and decided to find an Aveda salon. I came on city search and found this place and for the most part had great reviews. I called and the price or a cut was great, I thought I really found a deal! This salon is right in the heart of the drag. Great if you are a student already there walking, not so great if you are driving and have to find a parking spot. When I finally find the place it is really small and kind of dumpy but if they give good haircuts I don't care and not that this is necessarily a bad thing but all of the customers and staff were oriental. When I sit down in the chair I tell the owner what cut I want and I have 3 pictures to show her also. How can it go wrong? Well first thing she tells me is she is the new owner of the salon. Well great, none of the research or reviews I read means means anything now. During the cut I didn't think she was doing what I wanted her to do so kept asking her questions, trying not to be rude, about what she was doing. She would pick up one of the pictures look at it and say she was doing it right. Ok, fine, I'm not a stylist what do I know? By the time we got to the end of the cut I knew it was awful. It was about 4 inches shorter than I wanted and really not even the same style. I tried to get used to it but I was so disappointed I had to get it cut again at a different salon 2 days later. The new owner of Alante did my hair how she wanted it done. Do not be fooled by the good reviews, they are for a different salon than this one.
