Review content:
To be fair, I was patronizing this restaurant before it was remodeled. It was always never that great to begin with, but now being back after the whole renovation, I can see that some things never change or improve.\r
We sat outside along the street. The service here is TERRIBLE. Our waitress just fluttered about, took forever to bring us drinks, even a single drink someone in my party ordered, never checked up on us, etc. It was a disaster.\r
To start we ordered the clam chowder and wings. First came the chowder which took a while to receive. It was very good, thick, had pretty nice clam chunks in it and reminded me of the kind they serve at Bonefish Mac's Sports Grille in Lighthouse Point which is a compliment. But what happened to the wings? We received them about a good 25 minutes after the chowders which was annoying. The wings were large and jumbo, had a good taste overall but even ordered hot, the sauce had a sweet taste to it which was off-putting.\r
The main courses were overall a disappointment. I had the Key West Platter, which had a good amount of food: conch fritters, fish fingers, and shrimp. I will say that the quality of the fish fingers DRASTICALLY has improved, as the fish was flaky and all white for the most part. I didn't touch the odd plastic tiny container of some kind of coleslaw that looked like it was sitting under the heat lamp too long along with the rest of my food.\r
WAY overpriced. My dinner was $18. I could go to Southport Raw Bar and get the same amount of food in a basket for only $9 instead. The service was very lackadaisical and apathetic, and SLOW like she was in la-la land and not focused on taking care of us. Once our food was received, my father had to physically GET UP himself to go get tabasco and mustard for the table. I heard the female bartender inside was rude to my dad as well and just shook her head when he asked her if they had the mixers to make a melontini for my mom here. Remodeled & RUINED, its a joke, & the service is going to scare everyone away.
