Review content:
While looking for a church to call home, I was referred to this church by a current member. When I finally got to go, I realized what a huge mistake it was. Unfortunately I didn't hear the horror stories of other people's experiences that had also gone to New Way CF, until after I had gone and witnessed it for myself. I would never recommend anyone to this church, ever. The member who referred me there ended up telling me (after I said I would not be back) that it was ""God's will"" for me to be there and that I would be stepping outside of His will if I didn't come back. Apparently they are accustomed to saying God told them things on a constant basis, as that was said multiple times in my visit there. People in the congregation looked at the pastor and the leaders like they were idols to be worshipped. The building itself is beautiful and they have pretty good worship, but the rest of it is a complete mess. Looks can be deceiving. The sermon didn't follow at all what the Bible says and I was confused as to where he was getting his information. All of the books in their book store were from a maximum of 4 people, all who believe and preach the same thing. They want you to believe only what they think is true, and if you step outside of that box...you ""have no respect for authority"" and ""you will never walk in the full blessing"" because you don't follow their every word. I also noticed that cliques were a huge issue in this church. If it weren't for the ushers, not one person(except from the few I knew) would have said hello or greeted me in any way. I didn't feel welcome when I came in and all the members were talking in their cliques amongst themselves, throwing me judgemental glances because my outfit or my hair wasn;t up to par with theirs...and I surely didn't feel welcome when the few people I (meaning I went and introduced MYSELF and talked to people on my own volition) did talk to spoke to me condemningly because I questioned what the pastor spoke about. Needless to say, if it sounds like a cult, works like a cult, and looks like a cult...just because they don't sacrifice lambs doesn't mean it's not a cult. I was beginning to wonder when the Kool-Aid was coming out.
