I am never one to leave a negative review, but I felt compelled to stand up for what is right. I just recently visited Partners for the first time. I am not a fan of pet stores in the first place. I know that animals should not be exploited and sold in such conditions. I can honestly say that I felt ashamed walking into this store. Five minutes after walking through the front doors was all it took before I was heartbroken and in tears. To begin on a light note: No animals should be living in such conditions. All of the animals were in cages way to small for them or crammed in with 50 roommates with no space to even walk around. All of the cages were filthy. The poor puppies couldn't even stand because their little paws were falling through the bottom of the cage, into their own filth. Some of the puppy cages didn't even have food. I do agree, these pups were way to young to be away from their mothers. They should be with her until the day that they go off to a good home. None of the animals seemed to be getting any kind of human interaction, not even the dogs. The staff felt pretty comfortable sitting around instead of taking care of business like cleaning or feeding the animals. Not to mention what happens when the staff leaves at close. With all of the windows painted black, all of those animals just sit there for hours and hours in pitch black.
