Let me tell you a bit about a show I went to at Fletchers. Mindside 19 are a local band from Baltimore. Their CD release party was hosted at Fletchers on this particular night, and my friends and I went to check it out. We arrived without too much delay, this area of Baltimore is pretty easy to get in to. Sometimes at night it is a bit hard to find parking, but a few loops around and you're sure to find something. If you get really desperate, they have car garages for $$$. Inside, the place is pretty dingy actually. They've got some comfortable couches to sit on, which we spent a good deal of time on while the opening acts played. It was really nice, very relaxed environment, people just seemed to enjoy hanging out. When some of the bigger bands came on (specifically another awesome band local to Baltimore, Ten Watch), we really got a taste of what this place is capable of. It's small size made it easy to rock out without feeling too out of place. Then Mindside 19 came. I didn't think it was possible, but having a whole bunch of people in Fletcher's is very possible. The crowd flooded to the front, and the rest of the show was nothing but noise, and the sounds of Mindside 19. At the end, everyone was on stage singing along, and you felt like you knew everyone in the room. I have to say, this was a once-in-a-blue-moon amazing show, so I guess I'm a bit biased, but this place can really get moving if you're into that sort of thing. Wait for a band you like to come by, and then definitely check them out! They're really a great place to get to know local bands too. I ended up talking to both members of Ten Watch and Mindside 19. Both are very cool.
