I am getting settled into my new place and I couldn't be happier.  What's even better?  I didn't have to pay anything for the help in getting this place!  I guess that is the way things work down here, but up north I had to pay an additional month's rent to someone in order to secure a place.  I love Houston!  Since I ended up saving about $1200, I had to send my realtor a little "thank you".  I guess "southern hospitality" is not as common as I thought because he called to thank me and wrote back with an extremely thoughtful response that "this was a first".  I felt pretty proud of myself and it was really cool to make someone's week.  I guess my mama done raised me right even though we're not from the south.  ;)
