BAD customer service! Don't buy your jewelry from them! 2/28/2008

I received a pair of beautiful diamond earrings for Valentine's Day from my boyfriend in 2007. He bought them from Rogers and Hollands and Southdale in Minneapolis, MN. They were very special to me and I wore them every day. One day recently as I was putting them in my ears I dropped the backer and my carpet swallowed it. I could not find it anywhere. No problem, I went back to the store to have the earrings checked and get a replacement backer. The associate told me that they would have to order that kind of backer because they didn't have them instock. In the interim she gave me a generic backer I could use until the correct one arrived. Life went on for 3 weeks and one day I realized that I hadn't heard from the store about my replacement backer and I thought to myself that I would visit the store that following weekend after I came back from my business trip. The day before I left I look in the mirror while at the office and my earring was gone! Distressed I frantically searched my home and office my earring. No luck. I called the store to explain my situation. THEY COULDN"T HAVE CARED LESS. In fact, they were highly defensive about the generic backer they gave me and refused to take any responsibility for it. They yelled at me and spoke me like a child that didn't have any rights. They even went as far as to make up a fake entry into my file stating that they called and left me a message stating that I could have to pay for the new backer. They never called me with such information. They accepted no responsibility for the fact that they gave me a cheap replacement for my earring and that was th reason it was lost. Overall, my heart is broken because I have lost something very special to me and R &H was rude and didn't even apologize for what I had been thru. Not only did they not accept responsibility for the generic backer they gave me but they lied to cover their tracks. In the world of customer service, they are terrible. THey don't care about thier customers, only the bottom line. Don't shop there. They suck more
