I have dealt with Milford hospital on more than one occasion. As a life long resident of milford I had both of my children there. What brought me there initially is Dr. Sharpe MD of Milford OB-GYN. My first birthing experience resulted in cesarean, which alone was traumatic. When it was time to get out of bed the nurse lowered my bed to the flat position and told me to get up since I would have the same bed at home. I was mortified, but for all I knew was she did speak the truth. My first baby what did I know. I knew it was a lot of unnecessary pain.
The second time I was back I had a repeat cesarean. Two nurses came in to drag me out of bed because this time I wasn't moving until I was ready. After I told them of my first experience there they treated me like a princess and I would go back if I were to have a third, and this is because I am a fan of Dr. Sharpe and would give birth at the hospital of which he practices at. If he moves then so do I.
Next experience my father passed away at Milford hospital. FOR ANY MAJOR ILLNESS SUCH AS CANCER, STAY AWAY FROM A SMALL TOWN HOSPITAL. They are for small things only.
My mother has been to Milford hospital many times because she has COPD and this is where her doctor practices. I expect that we will be back there many times. I believe that for her this is the place for her to be because she is getting antibiotics and breathing treatments. I play a large part in talking to her primary doctor, educating myself on COPD and communicating with the people that are doing the treatment is a very large part of the care.
For what ever specialty, pick the hospital for that specialty and choose a doctor that practices there.
