Good service. Caring staff. Cleanest hospital I've ever seen.

Awful patient registration employee 12/15/2013

My husband and I came in and we were treated so poorly. I had to wait for the two woman employees to stop talking gossip before they took me in to get my husbands insurance information. It was appalling how long I had to wait while there was no one in the waiting room. we won't come back here again. more

Staff mocked my injuries, very negligent 5/23/2012

Never going to Milford hospital EVER again. I went yesterday morning by ambulance around 3am, and the EMTs took their sweet time while I was screaming in pain, and dont even get me started on the service once I was IN the ER. But they sent me home with vicodin and a diagnosis of mesentery adenitis. I thought I had kidney stones. The vicodin they gave me wasn't working last night, and I felt like I was dying literally, so I go back. I stumble into the ER clutching my abdomen yelling I need help and i feel like im dying and what do they do? Stick me in the waiting room crying for 30 minutes when I'm the ONLY one there. Then some kid comes in, smiling and laughing, with a dislocated toe, and they rush him right in! After what seems like forever, they finally come get me and they ask why I am crying well OBVIOUSLY I am in an immense amount of pain! So then they stick me in a bed and I can hardly take the pain at this point I just want my life to end and I wait in this bed for another 30-40 minutes. I kept seeing the doctor walk past and I keep crying out "doctor please I need help!" but he walks by ignoring me everytime. The last time I yell out to him he keeps walking away and says "I'll be right with you" and I hear him and the nurses laughing, yes LAUGHING at me. I am at the point of passing out when he finally comes in and all I want is to be loaded with morphine at this point but it takes another 20 mins for the nurse to come in and shoot me up. There were hardly ANY patients there and all the doctors and nurses were doing were having personal conversations and lounging in the nurses station. Then they tell me I was misdiagnosed that morning by the other doctor there, and I really do have kidney stones. I told them I did and no one believed me! I guess I'd make a better doctor. Everytime I go to Milford hospital I leave feeling worse than I did before I came. more

Good place to have a baby 5/8/2007

I have dealt with Milford hospital on more than one occasion. As a life long resident of milford I had both of my children there. What brought me there initially is Dr. Sharpe MD of Milford OB-GYN. My first birthing experience resulted in cesarean, which alone was traumatic. When it was time to get out of bed the nurse lowered my bed to the flat position and told me to get up since I would have the same bed at home. I was mortified, but for all I knew was she did speak the truth. My first baby what did I know. I knew it was a lot of unnecessary pain. The second time I was back I had a repeat cesarean. Two nurses came in to drag me out of bed because this time I wasn't moving until I was ready. After I told them of my first experience there they treated me like a princess and I would go back if I were to have a third, and this is because I am a fan of Dr. Sharpe and would give birth at the hospital of which he practices at. If he moves then so do I. Next experience my father passed away at Milford hospital. FOR ANY MAJOR ILLNESS SUCH AS CANCER, STAY AWAY FROM A SMALL TOWN HOSPITAL. They are for small things only. My mother has been to Milford hospital many times because she has COPD and this is where her doctor practices. I expect that we will be back there many times. I believe that for her this is the place for her to be because she is getting antibiotics and breathing treatments. I play a large part in talking to her primary doctor, educating myself on COPD and communicating with the people that are doing the treatment is a very large part of the care. For what ever specialty, pick the hospital for that specialty and choose a doctor that practices there. more

Hope I never have to go here 4/1/2006

I hope I never have an emergency and need to go to Milford Hospital. I brought my son there to the emergency room once. They were quite busy, and I gave my sons name to the guard when we arrived. Nobody even came out to ask what was wrong with him! We waited quite awhile before they even asked what was wrong, and then were not very helpful and didn't seem very concerned about his condition at all. I have always heard bad things about Milford hospital but I never wanted to believe them since its hearsay and just one persons opinion. Now I feel the same way, and am very disappointed, as I am usually proud of what Milford has to offer. more

Poor nursing staff. 3/24/2006

My grandmother was recently hospitalized for pneumonia. She has dementia and the nursing staff was warned that she may try to wander about at night, and asked to please keep an eye on her and/or use bed restraints. This was not the first time they had seen my grandma, either, as she had been hospitalized about a year ago and wandered about so often that her room had to be changed to the room directly across from the nursing station. However, the nurses did NOT keep an eye on her, nor did they restrain her, and my grandmother was found on the floor of the room across the hall from hers with a broken hip, an injury that she sustained from a fall caused by their negligence. She is 87 years old and had to undergo surgery that she should not have had to undergo if the staff had only done their jobs. more

good small town hospital 11/13/2005

Milford hospital is a wonderful facility but is geared more towards lesser illnesses. They are not equipt to handle large emergencies and will generally ship you out to one of the surrounding larger hospitals for treatment if you go there. But for basic illnesses as well as childbirth they are very caring and well run. more

Need a walkin 8/21/2005

If you need a walkin clinic, Milford Hospital has a great walkin clinic. A quieter waiting room than any of the other area hospitals. Knowledgable doctors and nurses, a seperate waiting area for the clinic. Easy parking. This is the place to go if you dont have a primary care doctor but dont need hospital services. more
