On a recent visit to A Touch of Destiny I have to say I was disappointed by several things. First off the place is mighty cramped, especially the waiting area. They really do try to cram alot in a small space. They have tanning booths and a waiting area with tables and chairs and a behemoth of a giant soda vending machine all crammed around the checkout counter, which itself is crammed full of product. But OK, whatever, they're ambitious. I had a pedicure and while I haven't had many in my life, I've had a few, but A Touch of Destiny handles the whole setup of a pedicure differently. They enclose you in your pedicure chair in another tiny space! Aaaagh! Seriously, in the same room where they have manicure stations set up they have giant mirrored doors which slide open to reveal the pedicure/footspa chairs, like in a closet, they when you're in there they slide them closed again! Perhaps they are trying to create a relaxing atmosphere or something but dude, I don't need THAT much privacy for a pedicure! It's not like it's a bikini wax! I'd much rather have been in the same room where all the other nail action was happening. In any case it was weird, then to add insult to injury my pedicure technician clipped my big toenail too close and it was sore and tender for like a week. Oh, while in my little closet I did manage to hear the voice of the owner talking about highly personal matters and threatening to beat the crap out of someone who pissed her off by questioning her salon and her care of her daughter, Destiny. Nice, huh? So it was my first and probably last visit and now I guess I know why they don't call it a 'Touch of Class" salon.
