My husband and I wanted to try somewhere new for lunch since we seem to go to the same chains all the time. We drove along Selby and Western and spotted Nina's Cafe. Never been there before. Soup and sandwich sounded good. I had the veggie sandwich wrap with a cup of corn chowder and a small Chai tea. My husband chose an egg salad sandwich and a cup of chili. It came to over $25.00!!! We glanced at each other. We both wanted to say "how much?" But my husband paid and I sat down. My husband waited for the food...about ten minutes...and brought it over. While sitting and waiting I looked at the folks seated around. Everyone seemed to have cups of beverages but no food. Now I know why...it's way too expensive!!! The chili tasted exactly like canned Hormel. The corn chowder tasted like canned corn with lots of pimentos thrown in. The sandwiches were just ok. I must say the tea was good, but the cost of that lunch was unbelieveable! I think we'll go to the old standbys from now on.
