I had heard the rave reviews about Joe's Peking Duck House located here in the Marlton Square, but after trying it several times, I am not too thrilled. The "Dim Sum" where you eat little tidbits for lunch, is not delicious. It is too oily and it seems like it's not too fresh. Adding insult to injury, they charge a good amount more than the restaurants in Chinatown do. I've never tried the famous peking duck though...
The decor is minimal. The restaurant is too dark. It's not a romantic kind of dark. The location is nondescript. Joe's Peking Duck House is near the acclaimed Food for Thought restaurant in a quieter part of Marlton Square. Parking isn't a problem. The restaurant is dated. It could use a facelift. The service is okay, but I felt that I was being ignored in favor of other customers. And the entrees are priced comparably to other Chinese places. Plus you can use coupons sometimes. You'll find them in the home mailed "clipper" magazines.
If you're looking for light food that won't provoke heartburn avoid this restaurant. Otherwise, I'd come here for foods like Lemon Chicken.
