Not really impressed 4/15/2006

I would call this place average. perhaps it is the fact that i have been to better in both Philly or NYC or perhaps it is that I felt the raves I heard from a friend were not really warranted but i was not in a hurry to go back. the food was alright, the service was alright, the atmosphere was alright, but they were all just alright... I found it to be a bit overpriced. it reminded me a bit of a Chinese restaurant from my childhood, a little greasy, but just a little, too dark, and always looking like it needed a good paint job! more

Dim Sum= Not delicious 3/20/2006

I had heard the rave reviews about Joe's Peking Duck House located here in the Marlton Square, but after trying it several times, I am not too thrilled. The "Dim Sum" where you eat little tidbits for lunch, is not delicious. It is too oily and it seems like it's not too fresh. Adding insult to injury, they charge a good amount more than the restaurants in Chinatown do. I've never tried the famous peking duck though... The decor is minimal. The restaurant is too dark. It's not a romantic kind of dark. The location is nondescript. Joe's Peking Duck House is near the acclaimed Food for Thought restaurant in a quieter part of Marlton Square. Parking isn't a problem. The restaurant is dated. It could use a facelift. The service is okay, but I felt that I was being ignored in favor of other customers. And the entrees are priced comparably to other Chinese places. Plus you can use coupons sometimes. You'll find them in the home mailed "clipper" magazines. If you're looking for light food that won't provoke heartburn avoid this restaurant. Otherwise, I'd come here for foods like Lemon Chicken. more

Joe's Peking Duck House 8/2/2005

This restaurant has the best Peking duck I have ever tasted. I had a friend visiting from China, who told me that the food was just like authentic chinese cuisine. They have a really wonderful vegetarian menu and will accommodate the food to your specific tastes. It is a great place to have dinner and the entrée prices are excellent. more
