The other day I tried Shangri-La for the first time. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken lunch special, which cost $5. The chicken was edible, but it was not anything special. It had much more batter than most other Chinese restaurants put, and also tasted greasier. The roast pork fried rice it came with was far too oily (and had a strange brown color). Last of all, the hot and sour soup included in my lunch was almost flavorless. Compared to other Chinese lunches, this one was not that great. However, it was a real value, especially considering the fact that this restaurant is in a nice part of town and is very well decorated inside. (It has a contemporary theme.)
The staffer I dealt with was friendly, though the food took a while to come out. If you want to eat good Chinese food, I would avoid this restaurant. There are many other takeouts around here that do a much better job.
