I am of the opinion that if you are at a restaurant and have a drink spilled on you, your meal should be free. I am not necessarioy saying that everyone at the table should receive a free meal, although that would be nice. I recently had a situation where a server spilled a whole glass of iced tea on me. It was wet, it was cold and it was brown. I happened to be wearing white pants. We received a 25% discount on our bill. I have since written the restaurant, but that was only yesterday, so I don't know what the response will be. I was humiliated and embarassed, on top of the fact that our food hadn't even arrived, so I had to sit through the rest of the meal like that!
