Our second experience with apartments in Ohio was at the Wake Robin Apartments. When we first saw the unit we would be renting, we were told that the yard would be cleared before we moved in. It was a total disaster area- weeds, old furniture, etc.. I would say at least a month after moving in, they finally got somebody out to not only clear out the weeds and trash, but put mulch down on the "lawn" areas. They also failed to provide a latch/lock on our back gate (which opens up into a huge lawn between our complex and a parking lot). Having two youngsters, that was very important to us. So we replaced the latch/lock ourselves. We had issues in the kitchen as well. Under the sink are cabinet door facades- face plates, I guess. Before we even moved all of our things in, one of them fell off. During winter, there was a power outtage during an ice storm. After the ice started to melt we discovered a leak in one of our pipes- it took them literally a month to try to fix it, despite several phone calls. One person came out just to look at what was wrong, and I believe he "fixed" our water meter to go backwards. We discovered months later that they were showing us has having used zero water. Then in summer, our a/c didn't work. That took weeks to get somebody out to fix as well, and they had to come out about 3 times to get the job done right. They did a bunch of "upgrades" to the apartment complex while we were there, but apparently getting mainenance done on time was out of the question for them. more
