For those who love Smith & Wollensky's but can't stand either the wait or the tables of expense account diners, Wollensky's Grill is the answer. The menu is just about the same (if not identical), the quality of the food and service is high and there is a good chance you will be able to sit down shortly after your arrival.
The bar gets very crowded in late afternoon and early evening as the barkeeps entertain local suits burning off steam from the workday.
I recommend any of the steaks as well as the phenomenal (and huge) hamburger. You will not leave hungry, but your wallet will be more than a tad emptier than when you arrived.
