This is one that won't disappoint. As possibly SF's most famous vegetarian restaurant, and at about $60 a person for dinner, drinks and dessert, I was all set to be disappointed. The view alone was almost worth it -- one entire wall of the restaurant is a floor-to-ceiling picture window with an amazing view of the Bay and the Golden Gate.
Then they served our meal and I understood why this SF institution is popular with both veggies and meat eaters alike. The entrees are flavorful, inspired and carefully prepared. The menu changes regularly to accomodate fresh, seasonal ingredients and the wine list is solid. Reservations are definitely a good idea.
