Greens is the original vegetarian restaurant located by the water in San Francisco. The chefs at the restaurant, Deborah Madison and Anne Sommerville, have both put out cookbooks bearing the Greens name. The food there is fantastic, designed to take advantage of the local produce. There is a place to pick up ready made foods, but on the weekends they serve fixed price menus. The restaurant can be hard to find, as it was for us in the rain, but once inside it is very beautiful and romantic. The restaurant is dimly lit and floor to ceiling windows that look out into the bay. This is a vegetarian restaurant that non-vegetarians can enjoy.
