Marjorie's in Belletown 3/30/2006

I read some of the reviews posted at various sites before visiting and it was a mixed bag. Some loved it and some hated it - mostly the slow service. My recent dinner there was YUMMY! Started with plantain chips and pineapple guacamole - what a combination - the plantain chips were crisp and salty and spicy - good combo with the guac. Followed by vegetable spring rolls -yes fried, but long and skinny things - and I tasted the vegetables, not the grease. Dinner was pan fried fresh Halibut with Capellini pasta, peas, and some other green leafy stuff which I wasn't sure of. But the combo tasted really good. Not a HUGE plate of food, just right. It's worth the trip! And the service was fine - a bit slow on the uptake to begin with, but no problem after we ordered. I'd definately go again. Keep your party size down though, it's small. They had a few bigger tables, but mostly it seemed best suited for 2 or 4. more
