Where are the pancakes 11/16/2005

We've ordered takeout from Shanghai twice. I was excited to have a Chinese restaurant open in my area, but this place could be better. The Lemon Chicken was good. Crispy pieces of deep-fried chicken, with about a pint of lemon sauce on the side. We used less than half of the sauce. The Hot & Sour soup was just OK - a little too oily, and their recipe doesn't include shrimp. The Mu-Shu Pork is also good, but instead of the usual thin crepe-like pancakes, they serve small, thin tortillas. Sorry, not an acceptable substitution. If you do get the Mu-Shu, ask for extra plum sauce. The rice is white, plain, blah, boring, and doesn't clump together well. I might go back sometime, but only because it's conveniently located on my way home from work. The prices are reasonable, just don't expect the food to knock your socks off. more
