I have returned to the Japanese gardens on many occasions, and it is a beautiful setting on both rainy Portland days as well as sunny ones. The gardens are set in Portland's west hills, and there are various areas with great views overlooking the city and the mountains. The landscape is wonderful & authentic Japanese, and the size of the gardens is impressive at 5.5 acres. There are also many water features/ponds with koi, as well as a sand & stone garden that is interesting to see on such a large scale. Great place to visit, although $6.75 for adults can add up depending on the size of your party.
