cuba libre is a fun place. the food is good and they have some of the best mixed drinks in town (mohitos, caprioskas). At night, the place turns into a salsa party. they usually have good DJs and a semi decent crowd. However, there is often a line to get into the club by 12midnight. So get their early. Most of the people dancing are amatures, dont feel any pressure to be a star. Upstairs bar is much more chill and a meet market. No tennis shoes! Learned the hard way!
