As one of a crowd of new restaurants on 1st Ave in Belltown, it took a while to get around to Cascadia. Add in that it's a very un-casual looking restaurant, and it didn't seem like I place I'd be headed anytime soon. Then I heard about their one-buck-burgers, and had to check it out. Arriving during happy hour, I picked a seat at the bar, though it seems the sidewalk dining is pretty popular there. Despite my less than uppity attire, service was prompt and pleasant, though I think the bartender makes her long island with soda-water, instead of cola (bleck). The burgers are quite a step up from your average dollar burger, definitely putting local cheap-eats-fave Dick's to shame. Very thick meat, decent bun, fresh lettuce; some condiments cost extra, but they come in servings large enough to slather a half-dozen.
