Since Slater Park redid their playground area, it has become one of my kids' favorites. They have separate playscapes for different ages and many new features you don't find in other playgrounds, like the rock wall and web-type climbing structures. There's a snack bar and ice cream stop, as well as the Daggett Farm. You can also take a walk around the pond and ride the carousel. The park also does many events throughout the year, like the Christmas Tree Wonderland and summer concerts.
