It is a treat for me anytime we go to Tampa Theatre. Besides great current releases, there are also a number of special events. During the summer it's great to cool off on a Sunday afternoon showing of a classic movie during their summer classic movie series. The organ is played while people are seating, there are often classic cartoon shorts, etc played at the beginning and sometimes even movie themed costume contests. They do another of these during the winter and show many classic holiday movies on the big screen, from White Christmas to A Christmas Story. They also host many special events from the Hard Music Awards to the Rocky Horror Picture Show on Halloween. The theatre itself is beautiful with ornate decorations and a ceiling that looks like the night sky. Something for everyone!
