We have a 2 year old front loading washer that failed. It was $1200 new, and the repairs were going to be over $900. Dick Vandyke insisted on repairing it instead of replacing, even though the technician said it was a defective washer. The service person was a no call/no show the first appointment. Then the wrong parts were ordered, then the wrong part showed up, then the part was damaged on arrival. We are at 3 weeks, and no indication from DVW when the part might arrive. After it arrives, THEN we have to reschedule an appointment to have it repaired (hope they show up this time). They carry the usual big-box brand names, with a 5 year guarantee at higher prices than big-box stores. I won't be purchasing from Dick Vandyke again.
RESPONSE FROM Dick Van Dyke Appliance World:
We apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused your family during your recent washing machine service. After speaking with my Customer service and Parts department supervisors it appears the problem stemmed from the availability of parts from the manufacture. When we were able to finally order the parts from our supplier the shipper damaged the repair part. We regret that these types of things happen from time to time, but with the vast number of repair parts associated with repairing appliances it does happen. We appreciate you contacting the Better Business Bureau to voice your concerns about the delay in repairing your appliance. I was happy to hear from the Better Business Bureau that you notified them that you were satisfied with the repair of your washer. We appreciate your patronage and look forward to earning your business in the future.
Respectfully,
John Shepherd
