After our washing machine quit working, we called Dick Van Dyke, and the technician informed us that the transmission had gone out. We were given a $25.00 gift certificate towards the purchase of a new washing machine. The following Saturday, my husband and I went to Dick Van Dyke to purchase a new machine. Our salesperson, Brett, was very knowledgeable and very helpful in our selection of a new machine. That same day we were put on the delivery list as an add on, which we greatly appreciated. We were told that the washing machine would be delivered anywhere between 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. We gave Dick Van Dyke personnel two different telephone numbers to contact us. We were home by 2:00 to await the phone call. We were still waiting after 9:00 P.M. with no phone call and no washing machine. I left a message with customer service and indicated our situation. On Monday morning the customer service personnel phoned and indicated that when the sales personnel come in she will relay the message. I did get a phone call right away from Brett, and he apologized. Evidently the service desk did not tell the truck driver that he had another delivery to make. It was a communication glitch. They were able to deliver the washing machine on Monday; Brett indicated the time frame the driver would be arriving, and the driver phoned about 35 minutes before he arrived. All ended up well. more
