My Sister and I went to a Margie Beegle Sale this past Saturday, AND WILL NEVER RETURN TO ONE OF HER SALES EVER AGAIN. Jennifer, the cashier, is the most VILE, RUDE, IGNORANT ""person"" I have ever met. She shrieked at several customers (we should have walked out then) before berating my sister and I. Not only have I posted here, but also on several other review sites, KHOU, and Reddit. I hope everyone in the Houston area hears about this horrible woman.... Im pretty sure all the glowing reviews were posted by Jennifer...they all sound pretty similar, and I cant picture anyone ever calling this ""person"" Lovely...what a joke!\r \r After waiting about forty minutes to get into the house, we browsed for about two hours. There was a very friendly cop who mentioned a sold table at the front near the register. Since we had quite a bit of possible purchases and large bags are not allowed in, we misunderstood that we could hold them at the front until we wanted to purchase them. There was not a sign that said ""No take backs.""\r \r There are also many signs throughout the house that state items can not enter other rooms...they have to be put on the sold table. Never having been to any estate sales, we assumed that meant we could put stuff down and move on.\r \r So we had a fine time browsing for two hours...then the last thirty minutes, we decided to keep ourselves in check and put back items that we didn't particularly want after all. The woman at the register (apparently named Jennifer and the company owner's daughter) asked what we were doing, and so we replied that we check on the items to see if they are collectible before purchasing. She then proceeded to raise her voice at us that ""the sold table was that, sold, not thinking about. And many other people had wanted to purchase those items."" We had misunderstood the cop and said as much. She then yelled for him to come over and asked him if he had ""told these girls that they were special and could hold items at the front."" He calmly said no, and we apologized for the misunderstanding. She then shouted that she would not allows us to purchase any items and ask us to leave and have a nice day, dripping with sarcasm.\r \r There were many people in the room and all conversations stopped as she loudly berated us. When asked to leave we did so, but it was a humiliating experience that I do not wish on anyone. I understand that we misunderstood her rules, but shouting at us in front of others is not the way to go. She could have spoken to us as adults and gotten the same message across. I've never been so degraded!\r \r I'm sorry about the wall of text, but I've never received this type of behavior at any business...I work retail and at any respectable company that I know of this would have been termination if a manager/associate talked to someone this way.\r \r Yelp has a ton of one-star reviews on them and I wish we would have researched before attending the sale. \r \r TL;DR: Margie Beegle Estate sales has the worst customer service. Prepared to be shouted at if you change your mind about an item.\r more
