After taking my dog to Pacific Paws for 4 years I can no longer recommend or allow my dog to go back. Returning from vacation my husband picked up our dog only to find him weak, starved, and filthy! My husband described our min pin as a ""stray ready to die""! For 26 days our dog was allowed to starve, they never contacted us to let us know he wasn't eating or that there was a problem with his care! To say we were shocked when we picked him up is an understatement! WE are appalled at the neglect and disregard for the health and well being of our animal. We took our dog to Pacific Paws knowing that though he wouldn't get the same care we give him, we expected them to at least give him the basic care (feeding, water, shelter, love). Our min pin weighted 7 pounds when we dropped him off; today he is weighing 3.6 pounds! He arrived home desperate for water (drinking 1cup right off the bat and begging for food). My husband bathed him, fed him and he is slowing coming back. He is still very weak but is doing better. When we called and spoke to the owner, his response cemented our decision never to recommend or board our animal there. The owner's response was that our dog was ""active"" and ""worked"" off his food! Seriously, our dog could barely walk when we picked him up! Pacific Paws is all about the $$$ they could care about the animals. \r Please think seriously before boarding your animal here! At one time, Pacific Paws was a fantastic place to board an animal. Don't know if they changed ownership or just staff but by the way our dog looks we sure wont be going back! more
