First let me say I have visited this salon many times before and have seen Marlene Glaser each time. I don't know about the other stylists here, but Marlene has always done a nice job on my hair. But the last time I went was horrible. I think Marlene was in a weird mood or something, just having returned from vacation. I went in with hair at my waist and asked her to even it out. No more than three or four inches. And this lady takes more than EIGHT inches off of my hair. It is barely past my shoulders now! I don't know WHAT kind of funk she was in that made her completely disregard what I had asked her to do and decide to hack off all of my hair that I spent the last three years growing out, but it must have been a serious one. And it's not even a good haircut! It looks terrible and is basically the opposite of what I asked for. It's flat and choppy, it looks terrible and it was beautiful before. I don't know what kind of service provider gets away with doing the opposite of what their customers want for very long, but happy little Marlene seems to be getting away just fine with it. So if you want some business tips on how to screw your customers this might be a good place to visit. After this experience with Marlene I will not let her come anywhere near my hair with a ten foot pole out of fear that I might end up bald this time. Even though I have gotten a number of good haircuts from her, I would take them all back to just have the trim I wanted instead of this awful new style Marlene felt inspired to put on my head. Do not go to Marlene Glaser! Although you might get her on a good day and get a nice haircut, there's a very real chance you get her on a day when she's in a weird mood and decide to get hack-happy with her garden shear like fingers. Not worth the risk, just go somewhere else. more
