When ordering these items I told them I needed the specific measurement specifications because my contractor is making custom made cabinets and counter tops and needs to know the height, width, etc.so the appliances would fit. They printed off the spec sheets and I handed them to my contractor. The width of the refrigerator on the spec sheet said 35 and 3/4 inches.
When delivered I showed the delivery folks where the refrigerator would be placed. They said it didn't look like it would fit. We went back to their truck and they measured 36 and 1/4 inches. All cabinets and counter tops had been measured, ordered, made. I would have to remove three cabinets and have them recut. I would also have to have the counter tops next to the refrigerator recut.
I went to Dick Van Dyke and explained the problem. Their spec sheet didn't match the appliance. They were willing to show me other refrigerators but they had none smaller with the water and ice service on the door. I simply asked for my money back and waited. When the check came to me it was $287.77 short. Dick Van Dyke said this was because I canceled the order. I explained that I didn't want to cancel but it was their fault for not providing the right measurement. In tact I never took delivery of the appliance since it was never taken off the truck.
Dick Van Dyke seems to be adamant in keeping the money.
I would not recommend them to anyone and will go out of my way to tell people not to do business with them.
