I had never heard of this "MEDSTAY" service from anyone when I had been a patient at Duke or at any of its clinics or the Ambulatory Surgical Units. I was treated with courtesy and concern. I asked about a rate at a certain motel in the area, He gladly assisted me in getting a BETTER rate than had been given to me by the hotel and "HOTELONE.COM". He then asked me exactly where I had to go for my appointments? When I told him-he said that the Hampton Inn was not the place that I should be staying. It was too far from where I needed to be. Sam had knowledge of Durham and all the facilities that are associated with Duke Medical Center, therefore he could direct me to the best location to obtain a room. WOW! What a "life-line" for those of us who do not know about Duke Hospital and all the clinics, and offices.
