I hired Ida York of Ida York Interior Design last week for a two-part project. The first was to do a stand-alone assessment of my space offering some furniture placement ideas, and designing a clothing storage solution in my bedroom that lacks a closet. (Ah, the triumph and tragedy of living in a 100 year old home!) The second was to begin work on a long-term redesign of my living room and bedroom. \r

At the risk of sounding corny, I can honestly say that our meeting was actually delightful! I was amazed at how quickly and seamlessly Ida came up with the storage design when I have been puzzling over it for months! \r

I also appreciated how we talked through every potential furniture purchase creating the budget together in real time. I know with Ida there will be no ""sticker shock"" at the end of my project. After our initial meeting I feel very confident that she will keep me in the loop at every turn, and always make sure I am 100% comfortable with how the process is unfolding. I also love that many of the furniture pieces will be coming from local artisans. \r

I felt so inspired by Ida's ideas and energy. It was very clear to me that design is more than a job for Ida--I got the sense from her that she genuinely believes that a beautiful and efficient space will change your life. I believe her! I definitely see myself working with Ida York for many years to come as my space and design needs evolve.
