My husband and I are beyond disappointed with our most recent encounter with Dr. Beeks. We had been going to her for about 4 years and during this time Dr. Beeks recommended several times that I could benefit greatly from eye plugs. We had discussed that I would like to wait to have the procedure done in the year in which I gave birth to my daughter since the process is billed through medical insurance. She agreed. When I went in for the actual procedure (with my then 8 month old daughter) I was under the assumption that Dr. Beeks had informed me of all of the possible risks associated with the plugs. Later that day, after the plugs were put in, I was experiencing a lot of discomfort. I went in first thing the next morning to see Dr. Beeks who informed me that my eye lids were inflamed - her solution was steroid drops. I quickly REMINDED her that I was still nursing (as this was mentioned one month prior during my annual exam) and had I known that this could be an issue, I would have reserved milk to accommodate the situation. Unfortunately, the plugs had to be taken out (not by my choice, but because I could not continue with the next step) and our insurance was still billed. Later that day I wanted to discuss why and was handed over to the office manager who was immediately rude and defensive.\r \r Everybody makes mistakes, but the reason I am telling you not to waste your time with this practice is because the staff is rude and Dr. Beeks didn't even take the time to discuss the details with me. Instead, as someone else above pointed out, they mailed me a letter indicating they thought we should find a new practice.\r \r I highly recommend you do the same and don't bother with this one. more
