If I could rate Margie Beegle Sales at less than ONE STAR, I would. My wife and I have been to a number of her ""sales"" and I have never returned anything but disappointed. I swore to never go again but my wife indicated she had a ""sale"" going on close to the house and the items would include a few from the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. I decided to give it another go.
We walked in and saw the same people we've always seen from the paid cop to Margie herself who has the personality of .... well, can't seem to come up with anything appropriately negative and strong enough that fits AND can be included in this review. Most unfortunate!
First and foremost, EVERYTHING is over-priced and in order to feel like one is getting a price even close to a good deal, you have to wait till it's discounted. We found a piece of rodeo art marked for 50.00 hanging on the wall. The current sale was 30% off everything. Well, for 35.00, we thought it would be good as an auction item on our committee at the rodeo.
I asked the security guard if there would be any further discounts and he indicated everything would go to 50% at about 1:30. We had been there for about an hour and it was almost 1:00 so we decided to wait. At 1:30, they announced the increased discount so we took the picture off the wall and I took it to check out. Margie looked at the picture and price tag and told me it was marked wrong and should have been at 95.00, not 50.00. I told her it was the same price as when we got there and she said people change the tags all the time and as much as accused me of possibly changing it myself.
I was absolutely amazed at Margie's blatant accusation and overall general ugliness. I did not realize she could be worse than I had experienced before but she found it within herself to stoop to an even further low! Needless to say, it was very upsetting and not good for my blood pressure at all. She basically changed the price to 95.00 and I laid it aside.
Some people pay the prices she asks which is fine. I find her to be quite inappropriate, unprofessional and unethical in how she deals with people in general and her pricing. I know there are others who feel the same way as we ran into a number of them leaving and at other sales we've been to. She may very well have seen us looking at the picture and thought we would pay the higher price. I'm sure that whatever does not sell can be taken and listed on eBay or Craig's list which may be her intent. I will NEVER go to another ""SALE"" being done by Margie Beegle Sales!!!
