What's great about this hotel is that if you are on the north side second floor, you'll have a great view of the ocean and you are STEPS from the beach. Most south and east facing rooms have ocean views as well. This is the northmost property on the beach, so there is nothing between you and the sand and surf. Yes, the hotel is run down. The towels and sheets are threadbare, the wall paper is peeling. However, we found the desk staff to be friendly and helpful. If you are a clean freak (no offense), stay across the street at one of the chains with no view or sound of the surf. However, if you want see this wonderful, beautiful beach; walk to the beach in less than a minute (literally); be able to run back to the room anytime; get great recommendations for restaurants; then this is a good place to stay. The pier is on the other side of the hotel. This hotel is in a great location. I'll go back, and am looking forward to it. I didn't use either pool, so I can't say much, except that many people were using both and having fun.
