We have served UVU for 10 years. Our model was to serve UVU students by paying 52% during buy-back. Additionally, we kept old editions in circulation by letting UVU professors know about the changes in each edition. Unfortunately, we counted on UVU loyalty to stay in business. However, when our competitors moved in 2 semesters ago, and paid Internet Buyback prices, you sold to us and bought from them. Our sales dropped in one semester so dramatically that it wiped us out. So now, students will have to buy new editions whenever they come out, and take whatever they can get for their books during buy-back. The disloyalty and small picture mentality of students ruined Beat the Bookstore's business model which was designed to keep textbook prices low and old editions in circulation. While I appreciate students' frustration, I'm doubtful if it compares to mine. So, while we are trying to save our house from foreclosure, and pay students back one at a time as we rebuild, everyone has to get in line behind the IRS and the state.
