Wonderful Resource 7/8/2011

I wanted to address the other two reviews because I am very familiar with this facility having been treated by doctors here my whole life. I can't speak for the nurse that ""treated badly"" saw, but I do agree that the doctor you saw does have an unfortunately rigid and unfriendly bedside manner. He is also well-known for refusing to prescribe painkillers for anything that isn't visibly agonizing. I also injured my back a year ago and got the same response from this doctor. So know that you are not alone, I have known him for years and I got the flexerall too. Know that the other doctors in the practice -- ALL of them -- have a friendlier manner. As for the other reviewer, I have run into the same circumstance with my children. But the reason behind it is not laziness, it's legal. The walk-in is staffed by the physicians in the group, most of whom are not pediatricians. If you go there and get lucky (or call ahead) and the doctor in the walk-in is Dr. Mohlman or one of the other practicing pediatricians, she will see your child. But thanks to our litigious society and doctors' enormous insurance premiums, they can't see kids in the walk-in. I showed up with my son with a fishhook in his finger and was turned away by the receptionist in the walk-in, but because Dr. Mohlman is our regular doctor, we went to her office and she kindly took the time to go into the clinic and take care of my son. Alternatively, the Medical Canter has a Barrington office where I believe they take kids..... Anyway, I have always enjoyed a very high standard of care from the doctors in this group, and the walk-in clinic, while not always accepting of pediatric cases, is a wonderful resource when you want to see a doctor without waiting for yours to be available or going to the hospital and sitting in the er triage for the day. more
