I've been checking out Hypnotists for quitting smoking. I've contact a few by email and they were able to give me a ballpark rate for their programs. This is not the case with Positive Changes. when you ask they tell you that no two people are the same and they custom tailor a program for you based on your needs. I thought that was pretty cool and went in for my free ""evaluation.""\r
\r
The interview lasted approximately and hour. I thought it was actually a pretty good interview. It gave me a ton of stuff to think about why I smoke, etc, etc. Then it came down to the end and I asked how much this was going to cost. That was when everything seemed to change. Gone was the pleasant caring woman who I had been speak to for the last 45 minutes. Just like that she switched into sales mode. ""Don't you care about your health?"" She then went into a litany of stuff I said and tried to use that against me to pressure me into buying their program. \r
\r
I have bought used cars before and this is what my experience with Positive Changes felt like. It was not like they were offering me a service. No, they were selling product. Sure I want to quit smoking and my life may very well depend on me quitting, But I cannot jusify spending $850.00 on 3 sessions of hypnotherapy. When I voiced this, the interviewer ""Carol"" asked me if I had a credit card I kept for emergencies that I could use for this.\r
\r
When I said no, she again went into a diatribe about how my health is more important than money. Of course, that is true. But I do not have $850.00 laying around.\r
\r
I would not recommend this place to anybody. You can find a good hypnotherapist for around $300.00.\r
\r
If you do go ask them about their success and relapse rates. They will tell you they do not track such things. Then they will hand you testimonies of past clients.\r
\r
However, as I sat waiting for my appointment I did overhear the ladies int he back of the office calling their supervisors and reporting on their sales call. Seems funny to me that they would track that but not whether their program actually works or not. \r
\r
I say avoid at all costs. I just wish I would have read the other reviews before I went.
