So, everything started OK...good communication about packing and pickup dates ( supposed to be the same). As soon as the packers came to pack my one bedroom apartment things started to go south. The two packers took so long...they arrived at 8am and finished at 5pm..for a 600 sq ft apt. They did a good job packing but as a result of there sloth like speed the pickup had to be pushed back a day..resulting in me leaving a day late on a military move.
The next day the driver came in a small Uhaul which already had another apartments stuff in it. He said the bigger one was not available and he would have to take half my stuff, drive 1 hour to unload it in the semi and come back to get the rest. The driver brought his wife ( for paperwork) and two guys as local help for heavy lifting. The driver insisted on taking EVERYTHING apart..saying the delivery driver would put it back together...i had my doubts but just wanted to get moving. About 2 hours into the second day...i was informed that the two helpers had been drinking in the bar in the basement....one had drank 3 shots and a beer and the other 2 mixed drinks...all before 11am!...The driver brought them to me and they apologized and said they had only had one...i found out later that day from the owner of the bar what they actually drank!..I was a little taken aback by this situation but I just kept a close eye on them and figured if anything was damaged..i had that on my side..and more as it would turn out. So..when they had loaded the uhaul they left at 12 ish...i expected them back 2.5 hours later....but no..they got back at 6pm for the rest..without even a call. They finished loading the rest and were on there way...and My wife and I hit the road at 830pm that day...when i had expected to have left the previous day at 4pm or so based on my last move 3 years before.
Next comes when my stuff gets delivered...this driver was very good but sadly did not make up for the rest of the experience. He delivered almost all my stuff but was unable to bring it all as the previous driver had mixed up loads in the semi...we were not missing anything of great value thankfully. The biggest problem was because the first driver had taken everything apart and not organized it so it arrived all jumbled and was impossible to put back together...what a suprise!...on top of that the initial driver had altered the inventory sheets..adding a comment that we had all hardware...my copy had not such comment and was a total lie..more ammunition for me!..Im still waiting for a settlement from the company through the military web site. To be fair the claims department have been very helpful so far....thats it
