I would have preferred to list half a star. Here's why:
My son has been a patient for over 5 years. We scheduled a cleaning only to find out that upon arriving that they no longer take state insurance. We received no advance notice nor was I asked if I wanted to use my private insurance instead of my son's state insurance that follows him as an adoptee from within the state. With no discretion in a lobby full of patients I was humiliated with their lack of discretion or sensitivity. When I asked to speak to the dentist and he realized that I had my own private dental insurance, he quickly offered to be available to provide a cleaning for my son. I have no problem with dental offices opting which insurance they'll bill, but to cancel services with no prior notice or worse to declare that for all to hear shows that this office is all about the money. They actually did us a favor and forced me to find a more suitable practice with manners.
