Amazing Downtown Venue 2/24/2010

Formerly the Baptist Tabernacle of Atlanta, this old-school, urban gothic church held revivals of a different ilk. The massive pipes of the organ still remain, as do the two balconies, though the pulpit is now a stage hosting a diverse lineup of national touring acts. Kitchy paintings, old fixtures and tile, and the massive chandelier provide the perfect scene for bands to come out and wail. When a band really gets rockin, you can feel the room shake and the balcony dip as people jump around. The balconies are seated and the floor level is standing only with bars flanking. The only downside is the staff (ushers, security, bartenders) who are consistently rude. Your best bet is to cruise around for parking, though most lots will cost the same. Pros: Great Sound System, Can't Beat the Vibe Cons: Dreadful Staff more
