I took a ""beginner"" Hatha class that provided almost no guidance. The instructor took an aerobics-class approach, going through the poses rapidly and mechanically, providing little explanation or help. Some of the poses actually hurt my arms and hands, and I am still suffering the effects. I am actually quite athletic, and visit the gym regularly, so I was surprised by the results. The students seemed to be intermediate level or above. I've taken beginning yoga at other places and have had wonderful instructors. (Also note that the entire place -which is in an old building- smells like mildew.)
Pros: Convenient location
Cons: Beginners beware! Not good teaching
