I hadn't gone to Bakeshop until recently, because I'm not really much of a sweets guy. But I AM a sucker for breads... especially croissants. So on my maiden voyage I grabbed a delightful blueberry pastry for my afternoon snack, and one of personal favorites--a ham and cheese croissant--for breakfast the following morning.
I woke up the next morning all fired up about my recent purchase. It was 8am or so and I eagerly tore into my flaky, fattening treat only to get blasted with a huge bite of ... MUSTARD! Whoa, hello. I think mustard pairs well with the salty ham and melty cheese, but at such an early hour, it was a little too much. Perhaps I should have just eaten it in the afternoon, or maybe I'm a little sensitive to the yellow sauce. But I really prefer the ham & cheese croissants at San Francisco Coffee.
Pros: Tasty pastries
Cons: A mustard surprise.
